So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

ORLANDO WEEKS (THE MACCABEES) – “DIG” (ft. WET LEG’S RHIAN TEASDALE)

The Maccabees’ Orlando Weeks has announced a new solo album, Loja, due June 6 via Fiction Records. Its first single is a duet with Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale, and they also star together in the Matt Harris Freeth-directed video.

MADLIB – “REEKYOD” (ft. BLACK THOUGHT & YOUR OLD DROOG)

Madlib has released a new solo song featuring Black Thought and Your Old Droog, and it should come as no surprise that this trio coming together resulted in a great, hard-hitting rap song. Black Thought says, “This is strictly for the honorees. Madlib is in his bag per usual and YOD is more than a force to be reckoned with. Simply complex, this piece is high art. Triple threat. Instant classique.” Your Old Droog says, “It’s an honor to be inducted into the heavyweight class of hip hop. To be able to spar with one of the greatest MC’s on a beat by the greatest producer is a dream come true. Look out for the Madlib x YOD album coming soon.”

ISABELLA LOVESTORY – “BOTOXXX”

Alt-reggaeton singer Isabella Lovestory has confirmed that her next album will arrive this fall, and she’s just shared the catchy new single “Botoxxx.”

AMY ALLEN – “GIRL WITH A PROBLEM”

Songwriter Amy Allen worked on Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso,” as well as songs from Harry Styles, Olivia rodrigo, Halsey, Charli XCX, King Princess, Justin Timberlake, and more. Her new single “girl with a problem” gives more alt-singer-songwriter vibes than pop, though, and she says, “I wrote ‘girl with a problem’ when I was in the throes of a relationship I could feel was slowly turning into something ugly and unsustainable, and making the conscious decision to overlook every pitfall for the sake of loving a boy. Turns out it’s incredibly problematic how good our hearts are at overriding our guts.”

OMERTA – “CHARADE” (ft. VINCENTE VOID, HASH GORDON)

Speaking about their new song, Omerta say, “‘Charade’ is cringecore. It’s avant-garde. It’s post-post-hardcore. It’s acid jazz. It’s K-Pop. It’s prog rock. It’s an anime opening. It’s neo metal.” If you’re wondering what that could possibly mean, check this out.

HOW TO DRESS WELL – “CONTINGENCY / NECESSITY (MODALITY OF FATE)”

“‘Contingency/Necessity (Modality of Fate)’ is a song about how random decisions and random historical contingencies come together to shape a life into something undeniable and necessary,” Tom Krell says of his latest How to Dress Well single. It’s from his first album in 6 years, I Am Toward You.

KNEECAP – “LOVE MAKING”

5 BILLION IN DIAMONDS (BUTCH VIG) – “WAITING TO LAND”

Five Billion in Diamonds, aka the trio of producer Butch Vig, producer Andy Jenks, and DJ James Grillo, have shared the first taste of their third album. “Waiting to Land” features Silversun Pickups vocalist Brian Aubert, Eagles of Death Metal’s Dave Catching and NO vocalist Bradley Hanan Carter. “We’ve consistently infused cinematic elements into our music, drawing inspiration from film soundtracks,” says Vig. “Collaboration has always been key; we give artists the freedom to explore their own creative paths, which often leads to unexpected sonic landscapes. Bradley’s contribution added a poignant melancholy to the track that elevated it to another level.”

Chris Cohen has announced his fourth album, Paint a Room, which will be out July 12 via Hardly Art. It’s his first for the label, and this is the first single which features horns by Jeff Parker.

FONT – “HEY KEKULÉ”

Austin band Font have announced their debut album, Strange Burden, which will be out July 12. They’ve just released new single “Hey Kekulé,” which references Cormac McCarthy lyrically while musically owing more than a little to the early-’90s manchester rave scene and early-’00s Williamsburg.
